Meet The Habeas Chorus Line Cast

The cast members of A (Habeas) Chorus Line bring to the stage about 300 combined years of experience both in the legal profession and in delighting audiences with their on-stage silliness.

Sara

Dazzler and choreographer
Sara F. Fischer is talented and dynamic, bringing a powerful stage presence to AHCL performances. A former Case Manager in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, she is now a legal assistant at the firm of Goodman Kalahar in Detroit. Sara also produces, writes and directs the children's' theater program at Maire Elementary School in Grosse Pointe. As AHCL's choreographer, she tries her best to teach dance steps to certain cast members who have two left feet.

Justin

Genius lyricist
Justin G. Klimko is the lyricist of AHCL (so blame him). In his other life, Justin is a corporate transaction attorney with the Detroit law firm of Butzel Long, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and securities regulation, as well as the firm's President and CCH (Chief Cat-Herder). He hasn't yet been nominated for a Grammy, Pulitzer or Nobel for his lyricism and wit, but he should be.

Mike

Comedian unmatched
Michael C. Leibson is a master of physical comedy and one of the funniest people you'll ever see on stage. He  has performed in community theater to allegedly thunderous applause. Mike recently retired as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, but still has friends in high places and can get you in trouble if you cross him. So watch it. But as he steals so many AHCL scenes, he could be prosecuted for theft.

Angela

Sweet and soulful singer
Angela R.C. Williams' lovely vocal talents and alto-to soprano range shine through in AHCL performances. She appears in several leading Metro Detroit community and church choirs. By day, Angela is Deputy General Counsel of the Detroit Housing Commission. But on our stage, she is AHCL's own Queen of Soul.

Joe

Crooner, stage director
Joseph M. La Bella is our resident doo-wopper who loves the Great American Songbook. In his day job, Joe is the Vice President, Director of Contracts for Jack Morton Worldwide, the promotional and marketing agency of record for General Motors. With long experience in theatrical acting and directing, he is also our director of staging, which is odd because he sometimes misses his cue.

Mark

Versatile performer and faithful treasurer
Mark R. Lezotte is a smooth and versatile performer, with a clarion voice and commanding stage presence. The former general counsel of a hospital system,  Mark is an attorney with the Detroit firm Butzel Long, focusing on health care law and non-profit organizations. He is AHCL's  chief financial officer, so we've been watching him closely since all of those Wall Street bailouts.

Judy

Soprano robusto
Judy Zorn's professional singing background is obvious from her beautiful voice and perfect pitch, which amazes and delights AHCL audiences. Formerly a practicing attorney in the Detroit area, Judy was recently lured to god's country in Northern Michigan where she is Executive Director of the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra. A voice teacher to countless students, she coaches her fellow AHCL members, a tall order for those of us who can't hold a tune in a bucket.

Jim

Musical director
James D. Robb is AHCL's multitalented musical director. He single-handedly arranges and performs all AHCL music. Jim is formerly a partner in a huge Detroit law firm, an assistant dean and professor at one law school, an associate dean and general counsel at a different law school, and now is Contracts Director at Jack Morton Worldwide in Detroit.  He's lucky he's been with AHCL for 30 years because he otherwise can't seem to hold a job.
